How Does Your Bladder Keep You Healthy?

Your bladder is an important part of your body. Without it, your health will be at risk. If you want to know how it keeps you healthy, continue reading below.

The bladder has three main functions. The first one is to store urine. The bladder is directly connected to the kidneys through tubes. Each tube is located between one side of the kidney and the bladder. When the kidneys filter the blood, the toxic materials along with excess water are sent to the bladder. The urine will be stored there until the bladder becomes almost full.

The second function is to signal the brain. The reason why you can know when you need to empty your bladder is because it can signal the brain directly. When it is almost full, it will tell the brain that you have to urinate. If this signalling does not happen, you will not be able to know when to urinate or not.

The third function is to void the bladder or to empty it. The bladder is connected to the opening through the urethra. This is the tube that mainly functions as the urine's exit passage from the body. The amazing thing about this process is that it can be controlled. When your body tells you that you have to urinate, you can still take some time before going to the restroom because you are given the control over it.

Now that you know the three functions of the bladder, there are three important things that you should always monitor in order to know if the health of your bladder is good. First, you need to be able to get the urination signal. If you are not aware of when your bladder is full or not, there is something wrong and you should consult your doctor immediately. Second, you need to make sure that the sphincter is working well. This is the part that helps the body to prevent urine out. If this is damaged, you will urinate whether you like it or not. Third, you need to make sure that signals are being transferred well. If your bladder cannot transmit signals about it being full, how will your brain tell you to go to the restroom?

Your bladder is very important. It keeps you healthy in so many ways. First, if you do not have your bladder, nothing is going to hold the urine. This means that every time your kidneys filter blood, the waste materials and liquids will just flow out of your body automatically. Second, if you do not have a bladder, you will be prone to infection. The bladder lets out urine of the body. Urine is made up of toxic materials, bacteria and other harmful substances that are poisonous to the body if mixed with the blood. Therefore, you should always take care of your bladder.
