What is stress?
Stress is a mental reaction to undesired circumstances around us. The body and mind work normally during relaxed state and during any unfavourable situation, some hormones are released to tackle the problems. After the person is no longer affected by the concerned problem, the body and mind must get back to normalcy. If the body and mind fail to regain normal tendency, it is called as stress. Stress has become an increasing problem for youngsters of this generation. It causes increased blood pressure and cardiac problems. In order to overcome it, there are several steps that could be followed to relieve stress and lead a healthy life.
Exercise when you feel stressed
When there is a mental problem, equivalent physical work out can tackle the situation and help you get out of the stressful feeling. Endorphins are released in the body which makes you feel better. If you are a body builder, then try going to a gym. Performing any physical activity releasing sweat from the body will be helpful. The key point in every activity is getting oxygen into the mind which makes you feel refreshed. Yoga can be done which is said to have increased positive effects on relieving the stress. Closing your eyes and avoiding all the thoughts of stress and keeping your mind relaxed can help you to return to stress relieved state.
Foods to tackle stress
It is very common to mix stress and food habits. Stressful mind decides not to take food and wants to remain in that state. To overcome that feeling, you can eat balanced diet and help your mind to get relieved from that mental capture. The fruits and fruit juices are recommended to help escape stress. Having a cup of tea or coffee can provide relief from trauma. If you have sweets in your home, just eat one when you feel you want to get out of that feeling. A chocolate which you love very much can do the trick.
Divert yourself to something you love
When you divert yourself to your lovable ones or things, you can immediately feel the difference in your state of mind. By just thinking of a baby, you can instantly get relieved from the stressful mind. You can get your mind to some hobby and concentrate on it. Some of the hobbies include art and craft work, stamp collection, gardening or photography which can provide you help in tackling the stress. If you love flora and fauna, visit them and divert your mind. Changing the location and moving out for a trip can be very helpful. If you have a lover, spending time with them and sharing love can help you to recover from stress.
Listen to music
The music can give instant feel of relaxation and help your mind to get away from that feeling. Some people when stressed, limit their mind to songs with sad note. It is recommended to hear variety of songs, predominantly music with lot of beats to divert your mind from depression to something energetic. Watching movies can also bring in a lot of comfort during stressful situations.
Try to sleep
It is common that when your mind is stressed, you do not get sleep. When you try to sleep by meditating and breathing in more oxygen, it can be very helpful the next day. Sleep is found to tackle stress to a larger extent. It is helpful when you make your conditions ambient to sleep. Using soft pillows and proper air conditioning can be help you to get sleep sooner than you would normally get during stressful state.
